Four Los Angeles County Properties Rank Among the Country’s Top 10 Year-To-Date Mega-Sales.
Green Gables, a storied 74-acre compound in the Bay Area town of Woodside, ranked as the most expensive U.S. home sale in September at $85 million, according to a new report released by Redfin. But the year’s luxury market leaders are concentrated in Southern California, where Los Angeles County alone is home to three of 2025’s top 10 transactions so far.
The September sales list reflects continued strength in West Coast trophy properties: four of the month’s top deals were in California, and three others closed in Colorado ski markets. In addition to the Woodside estate, a $58.3 million sale in Aspen and a two-parcel, $55 million Montecito transaction rounded out the month’s top three.
