Karyn Kearney, a longtime media and marketing executive in New Orleans, has been named to a senior role focused on strategic partnerships and philanthropy at Georges Media Group, parent company of The Times-Picayune and The Advocate.

In the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives, Kearney will focus on deepening the company’s relationships across Louisiana and advancing its business and mission of public-service journalism.

Kearney, who grew up in rural north Louisiana near Shreveport, graduated with a degree in journalism from the LSU Manship School of Mass Communication in 1987. In the decades that followed, she built a career in south Louisiana at the intersection of communications, business and community.
