Bosses at a popular Edinburgh city centre cocktail bar have announced it will close its doors after 17 years.

Under The Stairs is situated on Merchant Street, tucked underneath George IV Bridge in the heart of the Old Town.

In a heartfelt post on social media , the team revealed they are set to "hang up [their] bar towels and seek new adventures".

Their last night open on Saturday, November 1, will be marked with a special send-off event.

The management thanked everybody who has visited, worked for, or been involved with the bar over the years, and made memories for them.
