Aberdeen's IKEA store is set to close down in a major blow for shoppers in the north-east .
The Swedish retail giant has confirmed its order and collection point at Wellington Circle will close, but insisted it is "committed" to the city and is searching for an alternative site.
IKEA first opened its collection store at the retail park in 2016, bringing an end to the long journeys to the central belt to pick up furniture and other products.
But after nine years the site will shut, meaning Aberdonians will now have to travel at least two hours to their nearest IKEA in Edinburgh .
