The federal government shutdown continues on Monday, Oct. 20, marking the third-longest shutdown in U.S. history, and the Senate will vote for the 11th time at 5:30 p.m. to determine if it will continue.

The current shutdown started just after midnight on Oct. 1 after Congress failed to pass a new budget, marking the fourth shutdown so far during Donald Trump ’s two terms as president.
