The Vanderburgh Humane Society says over $53,000 was raised at this year’s fall festival.

It was their best year ever, according to their Facebook post.

Over 2400 trays of fried mac & cheese, along with 1200 samplers, were sold.

Several hundred pounds of green tomatoes, sliced and fried, were sold.

Also, over 1700 shake-ups and 1,000 cars were parked.

Money raised will go towards their CenterPoint bill, which is $13,000 for one month, and $29,000 for medical costs for the over 650 animals in their care right now.
