A live grenade from World War II was found in a house in Carleton, according to a release from the Carleton Police Department .

On Saturday, Oct. 18, Officer Caleb Church was dispatched to the 700 block of Ash Street in response to a report of a hand grenade found in the kitchen of a house. The caller was a relative of a World War II veteran currently residing in assisted living.

Upon arrival, Church cleared the premises and established a safety perimeter, with assistance from Officer Joshua Stump of the South Rockwood Police Department.
