Two suspects are in custody in connection to an alleged kidnapping last week in Detroit, police said.

Around noon Friday, a mother and daughter were taken at gunpoint from the 14500 block of Trinity Street, according to the Detroit Police Department.

The women are in their 40s and 20s, police said.

Michigan State Police said city police alerted its Detroit Regional Communication Center on Friday afternoon about a "body possibly dumped on Belle Isle in the area of Lakeside and Lucern."

A vehicle believed to be involved was described as a silver Ford Focus. Officers later made a traffic stop at Jefferson Avenue near East Grand Boulevard that matched the description.

Michigan State Police turned the suspects and vehicle over to the Detroit Police Department.
