A unique 100 year old Royal vintage motor, believed to be the only one of its kind still on British roads, is expected to fetch £80,000 at auction.

The classic car, a roadworthy Daimler D16, was fully converted into an electric vehicle by a pensioner and is thought to be the last of its kind.

Daimlers were once the favoured choice of British royalty, with this particular model having been owned by the Duke of Hamilton in the 1920s.

The 81 year old owner spent £50,000 converting the classic car into an EV and modifying it to accommodate her enormous nine-and-a-half stone Newfoundland dog.

However, following the death of her beloved pet two weeks after its 14th birthday in February, she has decided to part ways with the car.
