Central Scotland MSP Monica Lennon has distributed epilepsy awareness pins to every Member of the Scottish Parliament, and paid tribute to a young woman from Hamilton who tragically died from the condition. ‌

The politician highlighted SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) by encouraging colleagues to wear the pins in memory of the many young people who have died suddenly from epilepsy in Scotland. ‌

SUDEP Action Day is a global awareness initiative founded by SUDEP Action and supported by organisations around the world. This year’s theme focuses on supporting bereaved families and raising awareness of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), a condition that remains under-recognised despite its devastating impact. ‌
