And, as it turns out, the victory -- Jones’ fourth in place of Brock Purdy , who still is dealing with a frustrating turf toe injury -- came with a lucrative performance-based incentive.

In March, Jones signed a two-year, $7 million contract with San Francisco that includes a guaranteed $5 million and a maximum payout of $11.5 million, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, who cited sources at the time.
