Jackson police are searching for suspects after one person was killed during a Sunday, Oct. 19, shooting on Cooper Road.

Interim Jackson Police Chief Tyree Jones said a 22-year-old Black male was fatally shot Sunday evening outside the Valero gas station in the 900 block of Cooper Road.

According to Jones, some type of altercation occurred at the gas station prior to the shooting.

The identity of the male victim has not been released by police, as of this publication.

Jones said suspects, who were potentially occupying a white Honda sedan, fled the scene.
