UTICA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A jury has acquitted two former correction officers, clearing them of criminal wrongdoing in the brutal beating death of an inmate at the Marcy Correctional Facility. A third officer was convicted of murder and manslaughter.

As the jury read their not guilty verdicts for Nicholas Kieffer, his family in attendance reacted with sighs of relief and sobbing. Kingsley's wife was in attendance for his verdict of guilty on all counts and was seen crying. It is unknown whether Galliher's family was in attendance for his verdict of not guilty on all counts.
