PAPILLION, Neb. (WOWT) - Another candidate for state legislature has entered their name into the race, this time for a seat representing the southern and western portions of Sarpy County.

Darin Tompkins, a leader at a Nebraska animal health vaccine manufacturing plant for 12 years, announced that he will be running for Nebraska’s 36th district in a release sent Monday.

The seat is currently held by State Senator Rick Holdcroft , who was elected to the seat in 2022.

Tompkins, a South Dakota native that has lived in Nebraska for over 27 years, says his focus in the legislature will be relieving residents’ property tax burden.
