UPDATE: the road has been reopened as of 11:21 a.m. on Monday.

A section of Route 20 in Worcester is closed Monday morning due to flooding, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).

The part of Route 20 that was flooded is by Route 122, MassDOT wrote on X . Route 20 eastbound and westbound are closed in both directions, and detours have been put in place.

Heavy rain and wind were forecast for Monday in Massachusetts. The state could see wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, according to the National Weather Service. There is also the possibility of even stronger gusts, reaching up to 60 mph.

The likelihood of high wind is greater in Eastern Massachusetts.
