A co-founder of the popular rock band Limp Bizkit has died. On Saturday, the band confirmed in a social media post that longtime bassist Sam Rivers died at the age of 48.
"Today we lost our brother. Our bandmate. Our heartbeat. Sam Rivers wasn’t just our bass player — he was pure magic,“ the band captioned a photo of Rivers. ”The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound."
A cause of death was not immediately announced.
According to the Associated Pres, Rivers previously left the band in 2015 after years of heavy drinking caused liver disease. After receiving a liver transplant, he rejoined the group in 2018.
The band performed several shows over the summer and is scheduled to embark on a tour of Central and South America later this year. It is unclear if
