TOBACCO TOWNSHIP — Deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Friday night near the intersection of M-30 and Red Oak Road.
According to an Oct. 20 news release, authorities said the crash happened around 8:43 p.m. Oct. 17 when a 28-year-old Midland man was driving south on M-30 in a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu.
The driver lost control of the vehicle near the intersection, causing it to leave the roadway and overturn multiple times.
The man was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Rescue personnel from MyMichigan EMS, Beaverton Fire and Rescue, and Billings Fire and Rescue responded.
A section of M-30 was closed for several hours during the investigation, which remains ongoing.
