Farmington is competing for the second year in a row for a national award honoring its downtown revival.

The Farmington Downtown Development Authority is among eight semifinalists for the 2026 Great American Main Street Awards, national nonprofit Main Street America announced in a Sept. 30 news release.

"Collectively, the 2026 GAMSA semifinalists have generated over $329 million in local reinvestment, helped open over 650 new businesses, facilitated the creation of more than 3,630 new jobs, catalyzed the rehabilitation of 1,942 historic buildings, and leveraged 241,946 volunteer hours," said Erin Barnes, Main Street America president and CEO, in the release.
