Households will get out their winter coats and gloves as a -1C cold snap is set to crash into the country.

UK weather maps have turned an icy blue revealing that freezing temperatures are on their way, reports Express.co.uk.

WX Charts weather maps forecast that a whopping 19 counties will experiences temperatures plummeting in just over two weeks time on Tuesday November 4.

It appears the new month will herald sub zero temperatures with Scotland and northern England estimated to face the brunt of the bone chilling weather.

The mercury will drop below zero at 6pm with Argyll, Stirlingshire and Argyllshire in Scotland
