The Met Office has warned of "unsettled" conditions and plummeting temperatures.

On Thursday and Friday night, temperatures could fall to -1C in the north Pennine areas of County Durham, Cumbria, and Northumberland, and snow has been forecast over the weekend, reports Express.co.uk.

According to WX Charts maps, snow could move in overnight from Saturday to Sunday, October 26, over the Caringorms National Park, and up to 2cm of snow could fall per hour in parts of Ross and Cromarty.

The maps forecast that by 6am, it will have spread down to near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
