A Michigan State Police trooper's vehicle was struck by a motorist who lost control of their own vehicle on westbound Interstate 96, according to a post from MSP's Second District on X, injuring the trooper and both people in the second vehicle.
The Metro South trooper, who was not identified in the post, was investigating a one-car "preventable" crash on the left shoulder of I-96 near Fullterton Avenue at about 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, when the crash took place. The trooper was injured and was transported to a local hospital by Detroit Fire/EMS for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
