It's getting harder and harder to staff veterinary practices, though, according to Lotz.
"There's a shortage of veterinarians and there are only 30 veterinary schools in the entire United States that are accredited, so it's hard to get another crop of young vets coming through," Lotz said.
It's especially hard to staff private practices like Hickory, Lotz said.
