Budgam, Oct 20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah had signed the mandate papers for the Budgam by-election after consulting party colleagues, and it was collectively decided that Aga Mahmood would be the best candidate to represent the constituency.
Omar was speaking to reporters in Budgam, where he accompanied Aga Mahmood for submitting his nomination papers. He said the party stands firmly behind the candidate.
“Starting Monday, we will take our message to the people of Budgam and appeal for their support. We hope that when results are announced, Aga Mahmood will win with a big margin and represent the people of Budgam in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly,” Omar said.
