Two Kenai Peninsula powerhouses brought home football state titles over the weekend, as Soldotna claimed its 15th championship in the Division II bracket and Homer repeated as Division III champions behind another defensive masterpiece.

At Colony High on Friday night, the Soldotna Stars added the the legend of their dynasty with a 51–28 victory over Lathrop — their third straight state title and 15th overall. Head coach Galen Brantley Jr., now 176–10 in his career, shared hugs and handed out championship hats to players after the final whistle.
