CHICO — A former police sergeant fired for on-duty sexual acts entered a settlement agreement in June with the city of Chico after his termination.
The city agreed to pay Michael Williams $37,608.48 — three months of salary — under the conditions that Williams would drop a termination appeal he filed, according to documents dated June 26 and released to this newspaper Monday. Per the agreement, Williams and the city also agreed to release any potential legal claims related to Williams’ termination or internal investigations.
