A dominant first half by Carrollton was too much for East Coweta to overcome Friday as the Trojans rolled to a 50-23 victory in Region 2-AAAAAA play.

Carrollton exploded for 35 points in the second quarter, turning what began as a competitive matchup into a rout before halftime. The Trojans led 15-6 after the first quarter and extended that margin to 50-13 by intermission.

The early fireworks began after a missed East Coweta field goal, when Carrollton capitalized with a rushing touchdown and successful two-point conversion to go up 8-0.

East Coweta quickly answered with a 10-yard touchdown pass to receiver Sam Gritton, cutting the deficit to 8-6. But the Trojans’ special teams immediately seized back momentum with a kickoff return for a touchdown and a flurry of scoring drives.
