PHOENIX — Police departments across the Valley say last weekend’s “No Kings” demonstrations were largely peaceful, with no major incidents or arrests reported in several cities.
The rallies were part of a nationwide movement described by organizers as a stand for democracy against what they call “dictatorship.” In Arizona, tens of thousands gathered Saturday at dozens of protests.
The Phoenix Police Department confirmed no arrests were made during the event.
In Scottsdale, police reported no arrests at either of the city’s protest sites — one near Scottsdale and Camelback roads, which drew about 1,700 participants, and another near Scottsdale Road and Ashler Hills Drive in north Scottsdale, where officers counted 700 people, according to a department spokesperson.
