SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. — A Scott County man was sentenced to 30 years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections after being indicted on child sex crimes in 2023, according to a release from the 8th Judicial District Attorney General.

The DA said Michael Timothy Montgomery was sentenced on Monday, with 10News reporting in 2023 that he faced three child sex charges.

The DA said Montgomery, then 54, faced charges of rape of a child and two charges of statutory rape by an authority figure. The crimes were reported to authorities from around January 2022 through April 2022.

Montgomery is set to serve the sentence at 100% without the possibility of parole, the DA said.
