MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Michelle McKissack, a member of the Memphis-Shelby County School Board, made an appearance on "The Price is Right," where she competed as a contestant Monday.

McKissack was the first contestant called to "come on down" to Contestants Row, where she successfully bid on a trip to New Mexico, earning her a spot on stage.

Once on stage, McKissack played the Grand Game for a chance to win $10,000. However, she lost $1,000 after selecting the wrong grocery item.

Despite the setback, McKissack advanced to the Showcase Round by spinning the Big Wheel. In the Showcase, she had the opportunity to win a home security system, a safe, a bedroom set, and a brand new car.

Unfortunately, McKissack overbid in the Showcase Round, resulting in a loss.
