BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — A man who was arrested for shooting another man in Bismarck was back in court on Monday morning for sentencing.

Jamall Buckhalter pleaded guilty to attempted murder for an incident in June in which a man was shot near a shelter along south 12th St. while volunteers were handing out pizza.

Buckhalter will serve 12 years in prison after a judge suspended eight years on his sentence.

He will also be on five years of probation once he's released from prison.

A judge today also ordered that Buckhalter complete an anger management course and a psychological evaluation. He must also get his GED to assist with his future employment once he's released from custody.
