WATERBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - Two women, one with a criminal history dating back to 1997, were arrested by Waterbury police for shoplifting on Oct. 18th.

Waterbury Police say they were called to the Walmart on Wolcott Street after it was reported that two women were walking through the store, taking clothing, food, jewelry, and beauty products, removing the price tags, and hiding the merchandise inside bags.

When officers arrived, the two women, later identified as 42-year-old Christine Eason and 50-year-old Rudonna Legree, tried to flee the store with the stolen products.

“When officers confronted Legree and Eason for shoplifting, both parties became resistive and combative,” police said in a statement.
