A Tulsa man has been sentenced to life without parole after being found guilty of beating his wife to death and hiding her body in the back of her car along the side of Highway 412 in early 2024.

Chris Morland married Cassidy Ritchie just weeks before she went missing last year. Ritchie was found dead in the back of her car, covered with clothes, in January of 2024. Ritchie’s family reported her missing a few days before that and told police they believed Morland had something to do with her disappearance.

Ritchie’s family packed the courtroom every day of the trial and could be seen embracing after this morning's sentencing.

Morland's Criminal History

Morland admitted to detectives that he served 18 years in prison for a previous case in California.

He had also been arrested in Texas
