AUBURN — Frank Thomas III, a 2027 prospect, announced his commitment to Auburn baseball on Monday, Oct. 20.
And in case you were wondering, the answer is yes, he is the son of Hall-of-Famer and former Tiger Frank Thomas , who played at Auburn from 1987-89 and is the only person in the program's history with a statue of his likeness immortalized outside Plainsman Park .
The younger Thomas, who's listed as a left-handed pitcher and first baseman, currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. According to Perfect Game, Thomas is the 11th commitment to Auburn's 2027 class, which ranks No. 8 nationally.
The Auburn pledge's father was the SEC's only inductee in Cooperstown for a decade, and he started fast on the Plains, hitting .359 with 21 homers and 68 RBIs as a freshman. He l
