PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A Portsmouth woman has died of her injuries after a shooting earlier this month in Portsmouth.

Latesha Nicole Pugh died as a result of her injuries from the Oct. 8 shooting in the 300 block of Choate Street, according to Portsmouth police.

Lamont Eugene Stevenson, 49, has been charged in the crime. His charges are now upgraded to aggravated murder committed during the commission of a robbery resulting in death, use of a firearm in the commission of a robbery, obstruction of justice, and unlawfully obstructing a call to emergency services.

According to court documents , Stevenson shot Pugh five times in her own home. Investigators said the victim called her daughter and identified Stevenson as the shooter.
