LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A man is dead after a crash in the Algonquin neighborhood on Monday, Oct. 20.

Louisville police said the crash happened around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of West Lee Street and McCloskey Avenue. Their initial investigation showed the driver of a truck, for ‘an unknown reason,’ ran a stop sign at the intersection and hit a Ford Mustang that was entering the roadway. The collision caused the car to lose control and hit an empty parked car nearby.

The driver of the Mustang died before he could be taken to the hospital. His name has not yet been released.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating. Police said charges are pending.
