MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE) - Madisonville Police Department officials say a man is in jail after threatening to kick staff and nurses, along with taking the hospital floor as hostages.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to Baptist Health Deaconess Emergency Room in reference to a disturbance.

Officials say officers made contact with the suspect, later identified as William Risk, who was speaking to ER staff and nurses in an aggressive manner.

They say Risk was threatening to kick staff and nurses in the face and take the entire floor of the hospital as hostages if he did not get his way.

Police say after a brief altercation, officers were able to place Risk in handcuffs and transport him to the Hopkins County Jail.

He faces the following charges:
