LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear says he believes most senior citizens should be able to receive free, state-funded meals as usual again through next June, as a result of an extra $9 million his administration has moved toward the program badly in need of more funding.

"I think those seniors who were worried about not getting their meals are going to be able to get them at least through the end of this fiscal year, and then we'll see," Beshear said in a news conference on Monday. "I believe that most of what [the area development districts] cut back on can be restored, unless they decide to take a different approach, knowing the challenges that are ahead."
