ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

When the Alamosa Library opened in 2001, it had state-of-the-art public computers with internet access. That was less common then and made it a big draw.

The library reopened Monday after a 10-week closure for renovations including repainting the interior and replacing the carpet and some furniture. Klarissa Pena, who represents District 3 on the Albuquerque City Council, was instrumental by setting aside $300,000 over a three-year period for the renovation.

"The Alamosa Library is both a cornerstone and trust space for West Side families, students and lifelong learners," Pena said. "These updates will ensure our library continues to meet the needs of the community and remain a welcoming place for everyone to learn and connect right here on the West Side."
