BEAUMONT, Texas — Instead of spending years behind bars, a Beaumont man convicted in two separate criminal cases will serve probation after a series of plea deals in Jefferson County court.
50-year-old Billy Woolley, who was previously found guilty of indecency with a child in April, received 10 years of probation from a jury in that case. Earlier this month, Woolley pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with serious bodily injury and assault family violence — also resulting in 10 years of probation.
In exchange for his plea, prosecutors dropped additional charges, including sexual assault and theft.
