CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Authorities in Chilton County are asking residents to avoid an area in Clanton to allow their police officers to work safely Monday evening.

Just after 10 p.m. Monday evening, Oct. 20, the Clanton Police Department said there was a heavy police presence on Yellowleaf Road.

They are asking folks to avoid the area until further notice.

Police will release more details about what is going on when they are available.
