SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — One person is in critical condition after an accident on Monday evening in Salt Lake City.

According to Salt Lake City Police Department, crew responded to a report of a car accident around 500 South and 300 West around 7:30 p.m. on Monday evening.

When they responded, they learned that a male bicyclist had been hit by a vehicle. The bicyclist was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

An accident team has also responded to the scene and is investigating what lead up to the crash. The road between 300 West and 400 West on 500 South is currently closed but is estimated to reopen around 11:30 p.m. on Monday.
