VIENNA — Township trustees voted 2-1 Monday to accept the resignation of Jason Miner as fiscal officer of the township effective Oct. 31.

Trustees Mike Haddle and Rich Dascenzo voted to accept the resignation while trustee Phil Pegg cast the “no” vote.

Pegg said he voted against the resignation because the resignation letter “contained a distortion of the truth of what had occurred in Vienna.” He said he plans to give a rebuttal to comments made by Miner in the resignation letter and his reasoning for his decision at the Trumbull County Conservatives Club meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Candlelight Knolls in Bazetta.

Trustees have named Heidi Brown as the new fiscal officer, effective Nov. 1. She is serving as a short-term assistant fiscal officer through Oct. 31. Brown also is running
