Very heavy rainfall has been forecast over Tamil Nadu and Kerala and Mahe variously for three days with India Meteorological Department (IMD) declaring a low-pressure area over south-west Bay of Bengal on Tuesday, while a persisting well-marked ‘low’ over south-east Arabian Sea awaits upgrade as a depression.
The fresh ’low’ (93B) over south-west Bay may catch up with, if not outwit outright its senior counterpart over south-east Arabian Sea (92A), to be declared as a monsoon depression.
Regional rain outlook
Very heavy rainfall is also likely over Coastal Karnataka for two days; over South Interior Karnataka for three days from Thursday; and over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Rayalaseema for four days from Wednesday.
