University tuition fees will soon jump to near £10,000, as the fees will increase in line with inflation over the next two years.

Currently, for standard full-time courses, students will be charged a maximum of £9,535, but this is set to rise from 2026.

The new price cap for tuition fees will come into effect from the start of the next academic year, impacting both future students hoping to go to university and those currently studying.

According to the Office for Students, the decision has been made to support struggling universities, with 43 per cent of them forecasted to be in deficit.
