Wednesday’s Geelong Cup is suddenly under threat due to wild winds that could roar around the course at 130 km/h.
The city of Geelong has a holiday for the famous race, which is often considered as a sneaky form guide for the Melbourne Cup.

But there are now concerns about the weather after BOM issued a “severe weather warning” for several parts of Victoria.
Race officials are still planning for the day to go ahead, but racing journalist and form analyst Carl Di Iorio sounded the alarm upon seeing the forecast.
“The Geelong Cup meeting scheduled for Wednesday may be at risk if the forecast holds true,” he said on social media.
