While most of the country is getting ready to celebrate Halloween , Rhode Island is preparing for one of the state's most beloved Christmas traditions – holiday decorations at the Newport mansions .

This year, decorations will go up in late November, filling The Breakers , The Elms , Marble House and Chateau-sur-Mer with lots of Christmas trees, poinsettias, twinkling lights and more.

According to the website for the Newport mansions, this year's decorations will include "hundreds of poinsettias, garlands, wreaths and fresh floral arrangements."
