LITHONIA, Ga. — I-20 EB at Panola Road (Exit 71) is back open after a deadly crash closed the area for over three hours in Lithonia on Tuesday morning. DeKalb County officials confirmed this information to the 11Alive Traffic Team .

The wreck came in at around 2:35 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer and one other vehicle, GDOT said. The cleanup and investigation blocked all eastbound lanes of I-20 right at Panola Road until approximately 5:45 a.m., when responders cleared the scene.

According to DeKalb County Police, the driver of a sedan was traveling in the far-right lane when they hit the steel underride at the rear of a tractor-trailer that had stopped because of construction.
