CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN)- The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is preparing for the 2025-2026 snow and ice season.

Crews are in Canfield on Tuesday morning to inspect snowplows and other kinds of equipment.

It takes a team to make sure roads in the Buckeye State are prepared for drivers when snow and ice form, and we're in that time of year.

Crews with the state are here with a checklist where they inspect engine parts, plowing equipment tires, and other components.

Crews and snowplows will be available at any given moment to maintain 1,400 lane miles, 24 Toll Plaza Interchanges, and 14 Service Plazas on the Ohio Turnpike, which traverses through 13 counties in northern Ohio.

Crews will be inspecting throughout the morning until 10 a.m. at the Canfield Maintenance Building.
