**Gap Makes a Bold Comeback to UK High Streets**
Gap is set to make a significant return to the UK retail scene with the opening of three new standalone stores. The American clothing brand will launch its flagship store in Covent Garden on November 6, followed by additional locations in Westfield London on December 4 and Wembley Park London Designer Outlet on December 12.
According to fashion industry publication Drapers, each of these new stores will feature a diverse range of Gap clothing and collections. This marks a notable revival for the brand, which first entered the UK market in 1987 but closed its last UK store in September 2021.
Currently, Gap operates four shop-in-shop concepts within Next stores, located in prominent areas such as Oxford Street in London, Braehead in Glasgow, and the Trafford and Arndale shopping centres in Manchester. Additionally, Gap has over 40 concessions in Next stores across England and Ireland.
The partnership with Next sees Gap holding a 49% stake, while Next owns 51%. This collaboration allows Gap to maintain a presence in the UK market while expanding its retail footprint. The brand operates in more than 40 countries worldwide, and this new venture signifies its commitment to re-establishing itself in the UK high street.
