The Met Office has issued a 21-hour yellow weather warning for rain across Bristol and Somerset later this week.
The weather warning is in place from midnight on Wednesday until 9pm on Thursday, October 23.
Forecasters at the Devon-based Met Office have warned people of torrential rain which may cause spray and flooding on roads, causing difficult driving conditions.
It has also warned that public transport may be affected with journey times taking longer.
Some properties and homes may also flood amid heavy downpours.
The Met Office has said: "A heavy swathe of rain will move into southwestern Britain during Wednesday evening and spread quickly northeast".
